Our award success continued in February with a win at the Norfolk Care Awards. We beat off tough competition to scoop the ‘Effective Coordination in End of Life Care’ Award at the ceremony. We were praised for our holistic end of life care that was unlike any other that the judges had seen. We are extremely proud to have achieved this accolade having reached the final three last year. This is a true reflection of the care and dedication from every member of the team at the home, no matter their role in order to provide the best quality care for everyone throughout their entire time at Ford Place.
The awards continued in March at the Great British Care Awards with three finalists from across the company after they won their categories at the regional finals in November. Ford Place’s Denise Phipps was a finalist in the End of Life/ Palliative Care category in recognition for the development of the ‘End of Life Champion Role’ at Ford Place. Although she didn’t win, we are hugely proud of her achievement to reach the final. The evening concluded with celebrations as our Deputy Manager, Silvia Nunes, was crowned the Best Nurse in Great Britain as she won ‘The Good Nurse’ Award. This is a tremendous accolade for Silvia and the nursing team at Ford Place who are working at the forefront, leading the way for best practice and new innovations within the industry. News of Silvia’s success has reached her home country of Portugal with Ford Place featuring in a number of Portuguese national media and even a message from the Portuguese President!
After Stow Healthcare’s award success in 2018, we are launching this year’s award nominations. Is there a member of staff or even a whole staff team you feel deserves to be recognised for their exceptional work? Why not nominate them for an award in 2019! Please speak to the management or activities team for more information.
