Stow Healthcare is a family of care homes owned and managed by brother
and sister Roger Catchpole and Ruth French. Fittingly, a focus on ‘family’
drives the way we run our residential homes, nursing homes and memory centres which are dedicated to dementia care.
Our extended family includes our loyal band of managers, carers, nurses,
chefs, housekeepers and handy people, our residents, their relatives and our
professional healthcare partners across Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. This family
bond, the basis of high-quality care in characterful homes, has led to
our string of awards, including ‘Care Group of the Year’ in the National Care
Awards.
Awards, of course, are not everything. We’re proud that every one of our
homes is rated ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission and we
receive regular referrals from residents’ relatives, local GPs and other
respected professionals.
Visitors often remark that our properties resemble boutique hotels,
rather than care homes, as they are located in unique buildings in beautiful
surroundings. At each one, our carefully prepared cuisine is as welcoming as
our accommodation. Whether residents come to us for respite care or long-term
care, they enjoy the highest standards of service from suitably qualified carers
and nurses.
Needless to say, we welcome pre-arranged visits from relatives looking

Our team of professionally qualified staff have a genuine affection for our residents and a desire to deliver a high quality service in all circumstances.
Roger holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance, an MSc and PPGD in Marketing and is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Roger has a background in residential and mixed-use property development, marketing and finance having worked for two of the UK’s leading residential developers.
Roger founded Stow Healthcare in 2010 and led the acquisitions of Stowlangtoft Hall, Brandon Park, Ford Place and Melford Court care home.
Operations Director
Prior to joining Stow Healthcare in 2011, Ruth spent a decade working for Central Government (Department for Trade and Industry, later Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Cabinet Office) in London.
Ruth’s expertise allows her to lead in policy development, training, and implementation across the Stow Healthcare group of care homes.
