On Saturday 19 October don’t miss a special sight at Stowlangtoft Hall as the Bardwell Tractor Run stops by! We are expecting the rally to pass by the front entrance of the Hall around 12.30pm after contact was kindly made by the organisers who thought residents, visitors and staff would enjoy a look at the 70 or so tractors that will be passing by – most of which will be vintage.
In September our Deputy Manager Emma arranged for a special visit from a locally restored 1934 Fire Engine. Originally based at Plympton, Devon it saw service fighting fires in Plymouth docks in during WW2 in 1941. Residents were fascinated to learn about all the various lights, pumps filters and so on, and more than one had a go at ringing the bell! One resident commented “I haven’t seen one of those since I was a boy!”
